Role, Responsibilities and Skills
The role of the Strategic Solutions Manager/Director is to successfully engage, position and secure technical selection for a suite of solutions from Oracle that span products from multiple LoB’s. The objective of positioning a cross-LoB solution set is to:
a) Increase Oracle’s chances of success by providing a more complete business solution rather than just a point solution
b) Sustain a longer-term customer relationships and close larger deals
c) Increase Oracle’s footprint and wallet share in the customer
d) Drive customer engagement, and proactive selling of cross LOB solutions resulting in early identification of near term (1-2 year) opportunities.
This is a senior level Sales Consulting position that demands a person with 12-20 years of IT solutioning experience.

Lead Solution Engagements with Customers
· Play and execute the role of the “Solution Manager” in large and/or cross-LoB deals, with emphasis on hybrid-cloud architecture
· Design or co-design and position cross-LoB solutions/initiatives that address customers’ current and evolving business requirements
· Lead in-depth xLoB solution architecture workshops with customers and partners
· Own the solution architecture through the solution development, solution presentation and closure stages of the sales
· Ensure communication and positioning of Oracle’s thought leadership during the sales process, at various levels within the customer organization
· Coordinate the SC engagement approach during the critical solution development and presentation stages of the opportunity
· Ensure consistency of messaging by various LoB SC’s during their individual engagements
· Map to customer CIO/CTO/COO/CEO/CDO/CXO, Solution Architects and Enterprise Architects, deliver executive-level presentations and represent the complete view of Oracle.
· Develop business value based propositions to translate the solution’s technical capabilities into specific, quantifiable business benefits to support decision-making at senior levels
Internal Engagement
· Identify resources needed from various groups to ensure Oracle’s success in the large deal/xLoB opportunities.
· Work closely with related internal groups that have a contributory role in Oracle winning the deal, such as :
o Enterprise Architecture
o Insight
o Product Specialist SCs
o Divisional sales consulting and specialist teams
o Industry Solution Groups
o EPC
· Organize and run technical sales strategy calls with internal groups to leverage diversified thinking but common alignment
· Work closely with KADs/GCA’s in Key/Lead Accounts to provide input as needed or lead specific agreed opportunities
· Coach and guide various Oracle sales teams in the right messaging and solution differentiation. Serve as player/coach and personally support named list of key, iconic accounts and/or qualified, strategic xLOB opportunities.
Thought Leadership
· Work closely with internal groups to build or contextualize the following assets for various industries in the region:
o “Oracle in the Industry” Messaging Presentations
o Reference architectures
o Solution Mapping to Reference Architectures
o Oracle’s differentiated value proposition
· Continuously develop knowledge on specific industry trends and identified domain areas; apply acquired knowledge to improve credibility of Oracle’s offer and solutions
· Nurture “trusted advisor” relationships with key customers to further Oracle’s business potential
Product / Solution Feedback Loop
· Gather customer and competitive feedback for review with executive management on a quarterly basis.
· Provide product development input to influence future product releases
· Provide competitive and solutions architecture input to prospective industry solutions
Skill set and Profile
The role calls for the following skills :
Skills
· Solutioning Skills
o ability to map Oracle products and solutions to customer problems. This involves understanding and/or crafting the conceptual, contextual and solution architectures. In-depth experience in applying architectural principles and frameworks to create solutions that address real-life business challenges.
o A good understanding of how business, application, technical, data/information and infrastructure architectures need to be created is essential with expertise in at least two of the above areas.
o Knowledge of hybrid-cloud architecture design principles would be essential.
o ability to understand (or learn and rapidly apply) typical industry business processes and design solutions that address industry business processes and the underlying business, application and information architecture
· Product knowledge – expertise or deep background in one or more of the Oracle products in the SaaS and/or PaaS areas is essential. Experience in competing products in the same domains could be considered as an alternative to Oracle product knowledge.
· Domain Knowledge -
o Deep background in one or more specific domains i.e. Analytics, Big Data Management, ERP/SCP, Financials, Digital Experience, and Customer Experience
o Industry Domain Expertise (eg. Telco, eCommerce, Financial Services, Manufacturing, Retail and Distribution) is essential.

o ability to develop consultative and trusted advisor relationship with key stakeholders
o ability to discover and identify issues and opportunities
o ability to leverage business acumen to develop compelling business case and value proposition

Provides direction and specialist knowledge in applying the technology/application to client business. Facilitation of customer product/application understanding through presentations demonstrations and benchmarks; provision of support throughout the sell.
As a Master Principal Sales Consultant you will be responsible as the expert for formulating and leading presales technical / functional support activity to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction. Acts as a technical resource and mentor for less experienced Sales Consultants. Focuses on large or complex sales opportunities that need creative and complex solutions. Develops productivity tools and training for other Sales Consultants. Develops and delivers outstanding Oracle presentations and demonstrations. Leads any and all aspects of the technical sales process. Advises internal and external clients on overall architect solutions.
Acknowledged authority within the Corporation. Acts as a leader of large-scale company initiatives. Viewed by peers as a leader and top contributor and by line management as a key business partner. 3 years vendor (sales and marketing) experience. 7 years business experience with relevant computer applications or database/tools. Ability to implement the most advanced product features. Thorough knowledge of system and application design. In depth knowledge of competitors. Demonstrated project management skills. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills: needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques. Ability to persuade others through presentations, demonstrations, and written communication. Ability to travel as needed. BA/BS degree or equivalent, advanced degree highly desirable.
